Melania Trump Threatens $1B Lawsuit Against Hunter Biden Over Epstein Claim

WASHINGTON — Former First Lady Melania Trump is threatening legal action against Hunter Biden, demanding $1 billion in damages for what she calls false and damaging claims linking her to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In a legal letter sent on August 6, Melania’s attorney, Alejandro Brito, accused Biden of making “outrageous and defamatory” remarks during a YouTube interview published a day earlier, titled "Hunter Biden Returns" with British journalist Andrew Callaghan.

The video includes a moment where Hunter Biden claims, without evidence, that Melania and Donald Trump were introduced by Epstein — a rumor previously circulated by journalist Michael Wolff but never proven. Brito firmly rejected the claim and demanded an immediate apology and full retraction.

“These comments are not only untrue and inflammatory but have spread widely online, seriously damaging Mrs. Trump’s reputation,” the letter stated. “If you fail to act, we will pursue every legal option to hold you accountable.”

There’s no verified link between Epstein and the Trumps’ relationship. In fact, Donald and Melania Trump have long maintained they met at a fashion party in New York City in 1998.

Melania once told Harper’s Bazaar that Trump approached her at the event but was with another woman. She refused to give him her number, asking for his instead — which he provided along with multiple contact numbers. She called him a few days later, saying she was impressed by his energy and personality.

At the time, Melania was 28 and Donald Trump was 52. They eventually married in 2005 and have one son together, Barron, born in 2006.

As for Hunter Biden, he hasn’t backed away from his comments. He dismissed Melania’s legal threat as nothing more than “a distraction,” and so far, there’s no indication that he plans to retract the statements.
